James Elliott

James is a professional wood sculptor from Glasgow. Based just outside Hamilton, he has been carving for 3 years and is just starting to dabble in the competitive chainsaw carving circuit. His wildlife and figurative sculptures ‘draw’ from his training as an illustrator, with an emphasis on accurately capturing the expression and anatomy of his subjects. He is particularly fond of large-scale jobs, historical subjects and pet portraits, whether they are trees still rooted in the ground or free standing sculptures created at his rustic studio in the Lanarkshire Hinterlands.
