What is the Tweed Valley Forest Festival?

Welcome to the Tweed Valley Forest Festival website, packed full of the information you need to enjoy the festival, this year’s Wood Market dates are Saturday 21st October to Sunday 22nd October 2017.

Forest Festival Events

The Tweed Valley Forest Festival has been running since 2006 and has been attracting over 5,000 people each year from far and near to celebrate the connections with the area’s Halloween customs and growing forest culture. We are based around the Tweed Valley Forest Park with the beautiful market town of Peebles at its hub.

There will be a mix of traditional and modern techniques on display from the pole lathe turners and horse logging demonstrations through to the modern era of mobile sawmills and chainsaw carvers. There will be 8 carvers on the Tweed Green over the weekend, public can speak to and buy directly from the carvers over the weekend.

To compliment the outdoors, the Peebles Community Centre will be filled to the rafters with crafters from all across the country displaying and selling their handcrafted wares.  You will find something for everyone in here, from bookmarks and pens right up to large furniture items for the home.  We pride ourselves on being a market full of native and where possible locally sourced wood.

What else does the Tweed Valley offer?

The Tweed Valley Forest Park is made up of seven working forests that are also lovely places to visit. From walking to mountain biking, wildlife to history, there is something for everyone – see the Forestry Commission website for more information.

Just 20 odd miles south of Edinburgh this popular destination in the Scottish Borders offers Peebles High Street with fantastic independent shops, hotels & restaurants serving delicious food and a countryside which is stunning to view and explore – especially in the golden glow of autumn.
